Rupert and Ginger is the 27th episode of Rupert and the 1st episode of Season 3.
Rupert's encounter with a friendly Stegosaurus in Nutwood Forest leads him on an adventure to the Jurassic Era. Once there, he helps his friend, The Wise Old Goat, repair his malfunctioning Time Machine and avoid becoming a Tyrannosaurus' next meal.
Plot[]
Wrecked gardens, giant footprints... Something is loose in Nutwood. While running an errand for his mother, Rupert discovers that that something is dinosaurs. Judging by the state of the Wise Old Goat's house, he used his time machine to travel back to the dinosaur age, but the machine somehow got stuck open, allowing any of the local fauna who pass by it in the past to come through it to the future. Worried because the Wise Old Goat hasn't returned, Rupert (accompanied by his new Stegosaurus friend Ginger) takes the remaining return medal and goes after him. Unjamming the time machine won't be easy, especially with a very hungry Tyrannosaurus rex prowling around.

Trivia/Goofs[]
- This is the first episode directed by Gary Hurst.
- This is the first episode made with digital animation.
- The only episode with a big role for Mr. Bear. Although he isn't largely involved in the adventure, he appears much of the time throughout the episode.
- Rupert indicated he time traveled 150 million years ago, which is the late Jurassic Period. While it will be appropriate to see Ginger at this time, it is impossible to have a Triceratops, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and a family of Pteranodon present. The latter three species do not exist in the late Jurassic, and will not appear until the late Cretaceous, which is at least 80 million years after Ginger's time.
- Goof: When Rupert and Ginger are walking inside in the Wise Old Goat's cottage, Ginger is breaking the walls, due to her size. It's remarkable that Ginger doesn't destroy anything when she walks out of the time machine and goes outdoors. She is only seeing destroying the house when she goes back in.
